The Island say:
Since receiving the grant for our Hampers of Hope appeal from The Purey Cust Trust, The Island has continued to respond to the children, young people, their families and carers.
Covid continues to have long-term impact on society and the way we interact. We have seen that associated mental health risks have disproportionately affected children and young people who are already disadvantaged and marginalised. The Island has specifically addressed these needs through the introduction of various therapeutic interventions; counselling, music and art therapy in addition to individual tutoring and education well-being assistance.
While children and young people seek to escape from anxiety through self-harm, fear, addiction and illness The Island will respond to offer the support the urgently need and deserve.
