St Leonard’s Hospice

St Leonard’s Hospice say:
Established over 35 years ago, St Leonard’s Hospice provides care and support for terminally ill people, and people with life limiting illnesses. Our patients’ needs are our priority, and our care is designed to make the best of their lives. At our Hospice, at home, and in our community.
Our care is rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
In 2020, The Purey Cust Trust provided a grant towards our project to purchase new Riser Recliner Chairs for the in-patient unit. The chairs enable our patients to take some respite from bed, aiding the relief from pain while providing the opportunity for a change of environment. Using a remote-control they are fully adjustable, so provide exceptional comfort whether patients are sitting or reclining. In addition, the chairs can be used by patients’ loved ones when they want to stay for prolonged periods of time.
Our clinical staff are delighted to have the new chairs as they are easy to clean and move.
Thanks to the generous grant from the Purey Cust Trust the chairs make a significant contribution to the comfort of our patients. We are so grateful for the support. Each year St Leonard’s Hospice must raise in the region of £5.8 million, so it is wonderful to receive support from one of the leading local grant givers.
