Restore York

Restore York say:

Restore houses and supports those who would otherwise be homeless in York. We help our tenants to help themselves and get to the root cause of their homelessness, with the ultimate aim of them being able to move onto unsupported accommodation and commit to regular employment or training.

The grant from the Purey Cust Trust has enabled us to offer an extra level of support for our tenants, helped them get to the root cause of their homelessness and helped them to move forward in their lives.

In the last year 10 of our tenants have participated in education or training courses, 14 have participated in either paid or voluntary work, 7 have received counselling and all have been involved in the various social activities we offer.

Our ultimate aim is always to enable our tenants to move on into unsupported accommodation and commit to regular employment; in the last year, 17 of our tenants have moved on from us in this way.
